Replacement Chimney Pots

Ansley Chimneys can also supply and install chimney pots to a range of building types. This is a relatively straight and safe job to complete.

Installation of Cowls

If you no longer use a chimney flue, then it is recommended that these are to be capped off using a cowl. This is a hood-shaped covering which protects a chimney and prevents the creation of nests and the ingress of precipitation, whilst still allowing effective ventilation to the chimney.

Bird Guard Fitting

Ansley Chimneys know the importance of keeping your chimney clear. Our team have many years of experience successfully installing cowls & bird guards to properties.

The photo on the right shows one of our customers fireplaces after we discovered birds nesting in the chimney breast. Here is a perfect example of how birds can completely block a chimney and this is something that can simply be avoided as we are experts when it comes to fitting bird guards.

Bird guards are designed to stop birds or other small mammals from nesting in your chimney. So over time as they prepare to build a nest they place twigs, leaves and other debris into your chimney and if they are successful this can reduce flue efficiency and even rish carbon monoxide poisoning as this is unable to escape.
